Whether you're a chef, gardener, dressmaker, hobbyist, dog groomer, vet or just a householder, keeping your tools sharp and performing well is very important. Here are some handy guidelines for looking after your equipment.

• Inspect your shears prior to use. Using your shears when in poor condition can worsen the damage. Attend to it before it gets worse.
• Clean your tools after every use.
• Do not let any grit or any product sit on them for a long time.
• Remove any debris using a clean cloth or tissue. Rust can be removed with a little oil and a clean JEX pad.
•  It would be best to make use of a special container to ensure that they are well protected while not being used, particularly your knives and dog grooming blades.
• Sharpen your equipment properly. Get them sharpened by our professional sharpening service to maintain the edge.
• Avoid dropping your tools. Dropping can cause bends and chips that will affect their ability to create perfect cutting.
